OUR STORY
Hannah's perspective:
In March of 2025, I got what felt like a very random text from my sister saying she and her friend Liz wanted to set me up with a "cute guy named John who has lived all over but is finally back in Atlanta". I was intrigued and said yes to date one (after getting sick and needing to reschedule a few times... still not sure if he believes me, but I was). Best date of my entire life. John never dropped me off after a date without asking me on another. So, date after date, I kept saying yes, and I quickly became more interested by and excited about the man in front of me.
Before I knew it, my weekends began and ended on standby flights, were spent in meaningful conversations with his friends despite several language barriers, introducing him to people who mean so much to me and realizing I wasn’t the only person in John's life that adored him. Throughout our time together thus far, he has opened my eyes and heart to more of what the world has to offer and is a living example of why prioritizing what truly matters in life is so important.
While our story has begun with much travel and adventure, I appreciate and love the way he makes me feel in the quiet moments, too. He is worldly, dynamic and intelligent, grounded and patient, energetic and fun, he works hard, makes me laugh each day and deeply loves and takes care of the people in his life. I can’t wait to be his wife and share life with him forever.
John's perspective:
In early March 2025 I received a text from a friend asking if I'd be interested in going out with a "super fun, cool, blonde, and cute" little sister of her friend. Naturally, I said yes and am so glad I did. After a rocky start before our first date--she rescheduled on me about three times, saying she was 'sick' (which apparently was true)--we finally were able to meet up.
Our first date was on Friday, March 21, 2025 (about ten days after our first scheduled one!). We were planning on going to the Westside Motor Lounge for an after-work drink outside in the early spring weather. However, unknown to us, the bar was rented out for a ticketed event. In the soon-to-be typical fashion of adapting on the fly and making the best of a situation, we quickly pivoted to a nearby spot. When we finally met up, the awkward introductions and small talk never happened--it's been the same connection, level of energy, laughter, and fun since that first moment... and now will be for a lifetime.
Hannah has already been the best partner and friend I could ever ask for. Everywhere we go, we make memories and she enriches the lives of everyone around her. I'm the lucky one that gets to experience it every day. My dad recently told me that he thought the two of us 'will have a great life together' and I know that's true... it has already been amazing and has only been getting better by the day.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS
TRANSPORTATION
Amelia Island is about 30 miles (45 minutes) from the Jacksonville airport and 65 miles (75 minutes) from the Brunswick airport—and approximately a 6-hour drive from Atlanta.
Rideshares are usually available from the airports to Amelia Island, but return availability can be more limited, especially early in the mornings. We recommend arranging transportation back to the airport in advance. You can book car shuttles and services to and from the airport as well.
ACCOMMODATIONS
There are several wonderful places to stay on the island! Our recommendation is to gather a few friends, rent a condo, and explore the island with a rented golf cart or bikes.
If you prefer a hotel or we recommend the Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa, which is centrally located to the wedding festivities and within easy walking, biking, or golf cart distance of most events.
If you'd rather stay at the The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, that is great, too! Just note that it is not central to the wedding events - you'll need a car to get to wedding events and transportation pick-up locations.
OMNI AMELIA ISLAND RESORT
Room block code is: XYZ
The Omni is centrally located near all of the wedding events. Guests can rent a golf cart through Amelia's Wheels and conveniently park it at the hotel throughout their stay.
RENT A CONDO
Grab a few friends and rent a condo!
There are several rental companies we recommend using - click below to learn more.
THE RITZ CARLTON
Room block code is: XYZ
The Ritz is located on Amelia Island but is farther from the wedding events and transportation pick-up locations, so a car will be necessary for getting around the weekend.
Please note that the hotel is expected to have some construction taking place during January.
GOLF CART & BIKE RENTAL
We highly recommend renting a golf cart (or bikes) to get around the island during the weekend!
